Overview

Elastic Observability powers visibility across logs, metrics, and traces — but understanding how it all connects takes practice.
In this internal Hyperflex training, our engineers will walk through the complete observability flow — from data ingestion to visualization — using live demos, labs, and real Elastic environments.

You’ll learn how data moves through the stack, how to transform it for better insights, and how to visualize it using Kibana dashboards and alerts.Elastic Observability powers visibility across logs, metrics, and traces — but understanding how it all connects takes practice.

Learning Goals
By the end of this session, participants will:
  • Understand how Elasticsearch stores and retrieves observability data
  • Know the building blocks — indices, shards, nodes, clusters, and JSON documents
  • Learn ingestion paths — Beats/Logstash vs. Elastic Agent/Ingest pipelines
  • Transform and enrich data using ingest pipelines
  • Explore and visualize data in Kibana (Discover, Dashboards, Alerts)
Agenda Overview
  • Introductions and Elastic Stack overview
  • Core Concepts: Elasticsearch foundations — indices, docs, shards, clusters
  • ETL & Ingestion Models: From Beats/Logstash to Elastic Agent & Ingest Pipelines
  • Hands-On: Data ingestion, agent setup, and flow verification
  • Transform: Using ingest pipelines, processors, and enrichment
  • Visualize & Act: Discover, KQL/DSL, Dashboards, and Alerts
  • Bonus: Index templates, components, advanced pipeline demo
  • Wrap-Up & Q&A
